ALREADY JULY?

WOW! I cannot believe tomorrow is July 1st... This summer is sprinting by! It must be all the running we have been doing. I mean we have had 2 baseball camps, games and scrimmages during the week and on the weekends too, and then there is the regular everyday things to do.
This weekend was no exception to the wirlwind of June.

Friday was probably the most calm. Nathan mowed the yard, like a champ. Meanwhile J was still at a work function, sounds serious, but they were a some place playing volleyball, but he did pick up dinner for the boys and I on the way home. Cannon mastered the art of eating chicken nuggets and french fries with chop sticks, from school. After dinner we were back to watching the Rangers game, from which Nathan had great inspiration.

Saturday we were up before the sun and off to baseball again.. After the games we dallied around the house, took a nap, and then off to Red Oak White and Blue. It was fun for the kids and I got to see people outside of work, always a nice thing! Woo Woo and her family met us for the fireworks and the two little boys were so funny. Hunter would ooh and awe at the fireworks and Cannon would ask "Why are we here watching these fireworks." The older two ones just sat inside the truck, I guess that at 13 you are too cool for fireworks...... But not too cool to be inspired by a major league baseball player to mowhawk your hair.

Sunday, more baseball and then some shopping. The shopping was suppost to be for me, but the only thing I ended up with was a bottle of wine. When we got home we were so tired, we watched the Rangers, again... Then there was the usual Sunday evening stuff to get ready for Monday, but Cannon did find time to take his spaceship for a spin... He flew to Sonic and got Mrs. Carol, the team mom from Nathan's baseball team, a "Big" coke and some chicken nuggets..

All and all a wonderful weekend.

Our SHORT Adventure

The boys and I made a trek down to Port Aransas, Corpus Christi, to meet J's parents for a little R&R. The adventure being Cannon in the car for 7 plus hours... And Nathan not wanting to climb in the trunk by hour 1. (See Cannon thinks who ever might be in the backseat with him is his personal assistant and well that can be rather demanding.) We made it, 5 stops later!

Our resort, Port Royal, was wonderful! First thing we did after putting our bags in the rooms was go down to the beach. Cannon and I played in the sand and then walked towards the water to rinse off. Wave comes, knocks him over, and he is ready to play in the pool, not the ocean! That is my boy.

After the quick beach excursion out to eat it was, since eating is the MOST important thing we do!

Then the rest of the weekend went pretty quickly.. Saturday: eat, pool, eat, nap, beach, shower, eat. On Sunday we wanted the brunch, which we thought would be quick to get into, little did we know would take until 12:30 to be seated. Oh well, it was awesome! Then to the aquarium we went. Where the dolphins swam to Cannon's song, Life is a Highway.

The mini-trip was great! It is always nice to get away from the stress of life and spend time with the boys and the in-laws.

We Made It!

Well... We have made it through 3 days of the new class and even achieved a new milestone. See I was the mom who did not care that my kiddo was still using a passy. To me it just meant he got to be little longer. The move to his new class meant that he had to not use the passy at school. With this I decided that there was no time like the present to take it away at home too. Monday: Daddy gave in, Tuesday: Mommy gave in, and Wednesday: The Passy FAIRY came and took it to other babies who need passies. Thank goodness for the Passy FAIRY. No more passy and no tears either. He was so pumped to wake up and find money in his bed!!! Go Cannon!

Learning How

So, TODAY I have decided to take on this blogging thing... I have been inspired by a friend. Hers is always so fun to read. We will see where this goes. Knowing me I will do it for a little while and then forget about it.

The best place to start it today...

When you are a parent there is always a funny story to tell or something to laugh about, but today I came to work in tears. My baby got moved to the 3 year old class at school. We still have a little less than 2 months until he is 3, so he must be a genius, or they needed room in the 2 year old class and he is a champ at the potty training thing! In his new class he has to sit in his desk, no blankie or passy when Mommy leaves him in the morning, and he just looked so little. I know that he is going to make it fine through this growing up thing but what about me?

Well anyway that wraps up my first blog and I look forward to next time!
